A private gift page
Its own link, not listed anywhere. They open it in the browser they already have. Nothing to install, no account, no address.
The ribbon
They pull it and the pet is there, turning, with their name, your name and your message under it.
In their room
One button on the gift page puts the pet on a real table through the phone camera. It stays where they put it while they walk around it.
A card to print at home
A card with their pet on the front. Point a phone camera at the paper and the pet stands up out of it, turning, on top of the card.
A quiet version when it is a memorial
Choose In memory and the page loses the confetti and the celebration wording. It opens slowly and says nothing it should not.
A thank you back
They can send a note back to you from the page, so you find out it landed.

The honest part.
Sometimes it misses
Very dark fur, an odd angle, a pet half out of frame. The likeness can come back not quite right. We say so before you pay if we can see it in the photo, and the two portraits show you the rest.
Then we build it again
If the dearling itself comes out wrong, tell us and we rebuild it. We would rather spend the compute than have you send a gift you are embarrassed by.
A card we post for you

It is not on any plan, you cannot order it, and it is here so you know what is coming rather than what you are buying.

What people ask before paying.
What exactly is free?
You upload one photo and we draw your pet twice, once for each look. That takes about 15 seconds and costs nothing. Both are flat portraits. The dearling itself, the little 3D one that turns and stands on a table, is built after you order. So you never pay to find out whether the likeness is any good.
Is the price in euros?
Yes. 12.90 and 19.90 EUR, and euros is what gets charged. If your account runs in another currency your bank converts it at their rate, which is a matter between you and your bank. We do not add anything on top of the number you see.
What can I pay with?
A card, and whatever else Paddle offers you at checkout. Paddle is our payment provider and the seller of record, so your card number never reaches Dearling, the receipt and the VAT come from them, and the line on your statement says Paddle. You come straight back to the build screen afterwards.
Is this a subscription?
No, and there is nothing to cancel. You pay once for one gift. If you send another one next year you pay for that one then, at whatever it costs then.
Are there any other costs?
No. Nothing ships, so there is no delivery charge and no address to enter. Standing the pet in a room and the card you print at home are in every order at every price. The number on the plan is the whole number.
Why does Plus cost more than Dearling?
Because it runs the build twice instead of once, so both looks exist and the person opening the gift picks the one they want to keep on the page. That is the only honest reason a tier costs more here: more building, not a feature we held back from the cheaper one.
What if I look at the portraits and never order?
Then you have paid nothing and that is the end of it. We do not charge you, there is no email chasing you, and nothing is kept for you. Plenty of people will look, see that the photo was not good enough, and leave. Finding that out for nothing is the point of putting the portraits first.
Can I get my money back?
Orders are final once the build starts, because the computing is spent the moment it does. That is why the portraits come before payment rather than after. Two things sit outside that: if the build fails and you never get a gift, we refund the whole amount without you having to ask, and if the dearling comes out wrong we build it again rather than argue about it.
